Also known as ‘oil flooded vacuum pumps’ or ‘Oil Sealed Vacuum Pumps’, oil lubricated vacuum pumps use oil to create an effective seal. This enables lower levels of vacuum to be reached.
Lubrication inside the machines also helps prevent wear of internals such as blades (vanes), rotor, housing and bearings. The oil in the pump lowers operating temperatures by reducing friction between rotating components and the internal wall of the housing. The oil protects against corrosion and keeps the compression chamber free of impurities.
